- No hot water or extreme temperature fluctuations: Opal contains water – extreme temperature differences can cause cracks (crazing).
- Do not let it dry out: In very dry air, an opal can lose its color. Store it in a slightly damp cloth or with a small container of water.
- No perfume, no chemicals: Anything containing chemicals will attack the stone.
- Clean gently only with a damp cloth.
