Determine Your Ring Size: The Complete Guide with Chart

Determining the correct ring size is the first step to a perfectly fitting ring. With this guide and chart, you can easily measure your size at home.

Method 1: Paper Strip Method

  1. Wrap a narrow strip of paper (approx. 5 mm wide) around the desired finger
  2. Mark the paper exactly where it overlaps
  3. Unfold the strip and measure its length in mm = circumference
  4. Circumference ÷ 3.14159 = diameter in mm
  5. Compare with the chart below

Method 2: Measure an Existing Ring

Place a well-fitting ring on a white sheet of paper and measure the inner diameter (from inner edge to inner edge).

Ring Size Chart (EU Standard)

  • Diameter 14.9 mm / Circumference 46.8 mm = Size 47
  • Diameter 15.7 mm / Circumference 49.3 mm = Size 49
  • Diameter 16.5 mm / Circumference 51.8 mm = Size 52
  • Diameter 17.2 mm / Circumference 54.1 mm = Size 54
  • Diameter 18.2 mm / Circumference 57.2 mm = Size 57
  • Diameter 18.8 mm / Circumference 59.1 mm = Size 59
  • Diameter 19.4 mm / Circumference 61.0 mm = Size 61
  • Diameter 20.4 mm / Circumference 64.1 mm = Size 64

Important Notes

  • Measure in the morning – fingers are thicker in the evening (approx. 0.5–1 size difference)
  • Warm fingers are thicker than cold – measure at normal temperature
  • For wide rings (over 8 mm): choose 0.5–1 size larger
  • Knuckle check: the ring must fit over the knuckle, not just the thickest part
