Kurz gesagt: Three of the six trends for 2027 will last longer than one season, three will not. Find out which ones they are and how much a short-lived trend item should cost.

Jewellery trends 2027: what stays and what disappears. In short: Of the six jewellery trends for 2027, three will last beyond the year: wide bangles, adjustable statement rings, and warm yellow gold. Shell motifs, asymmetrical earrings, and very large pendants are seasonal themes. For short-lived trends, the reasonable price limit is around €25.

Trend lists tell you what is coming. They don't tell you what you will still be wearing in two years. That is the more interesting question, because it determines how much a piece should cost.

The test: does the trend solve a problem?

Trends that make something practically better survive. The adjustable ring solves the sizing problem when giving a gift. The open bangle has no clasp to wear out and can be put on with one hand. Both are reasons that function independently of fashion.

Trends that are just a motif disappear with the motif. Shells were new in 2025, in 2027 they are standard, and in 2029 they will seem dated. This is not an argument against them, but one for a lower price.

Six trends, sorted by half-life

Trend Assessment Price limit
Wide bangles stays, solves a problem up to €60
Adjustable statement rings stays up to €45
Warm yellow gold stays, color cycle lasts years no limit
Layering with two chains stays in a reduced form up to €90 for the set
Shell and ocean motifs seasonal up to €25
Asymmetrical earrings short half-life up to €25

Asymmetry is the case where the image and everyday life are furthest apart. It works in photos, but after three weeks most people wear a pair again. A single ear cuff without a piercing is the cheapest way to test this.

What you should spend on short-lived trends

A simple calculation: divide the price by the number of times you realistically wear the piece. A shell pendant for €22 that you wear twenty times costs a good euro per wear. The same pendant for €180 costs nine. For basic jewellery, the calculation is reversed because you wear it a hundred times.

That is why categorization is more sensible than a fixed upper limit: basics in materials that last, trends in the lower price segment. What counts as a basic at Corelune can be found under Bestsellers, the trend pieces are under Statement Rings.

Where the trend lists usually get it wrong

They come from runways and describe pieces that nobody wears to the office. What is actually bought is a level below that: smaller, lighter, in one color instead of three. Anyone reading trend reports should mentally reduce every specification by one size.

The complete overview of the directions can be found in the Jewellery Trend Preview 2027. For individual categories, there are the Ring Trends 2027 and the Earring Trends 2027.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a jewellery trend last on average?

Motif trends run for two to three years, format trends five to ten, and color cycles for metals ten to fifteen. Rose gold lasted about ten years. So if a trend has already been running for two years and you only buy it now, you are closer to the end than the beginning.

Is expensive jewellery worth it for a trend?

Rarely. The resale value of fashion jewellery is zero, and even with solid gold, you only get back the material value upon resale. Anyone who spends a lot on a trend piece is paying for design and brand, and both are exactly the part that becomes obsolete with the trend.

Which three pieces work regardless of the year?

A 45 cm chain, a pair of hoops with a 20 to 25 mm diameter, and a narrow ring. This combination has been stable for decades and can be refreshed with a single trend piece per season without having to replace the rest.
