How do you measure ring size?

1 min read
Quick answer: Measuring ring size: Measure the inner diameter of an existing ring or measure your finger. Measure in the evening – fingers are larger. Chart: 52 = 16.5 mm.

The most reliable method: Place a well-fitting ring on paper, measure the inner diameter, and look it up in the EU size chart. Alternatively: Wrap a strip of paper around your finger, measure the length, divide by 3.14 = diameter in mm = EU size.

EU Size Chart (Inner Diameter)

  • 15.3 mm = Size 48
  • 15.9 mm = Size 50
  • 16.5 mm = Size 52
  • 17.2 mm = Size 54
  • 17.8 mm = Size 56
  • 18.5 mm = Size 58
  • 19.1 mm = Size 60

Important Notes

  • Measure in the evening – fingers are up to half a size thicker in the evening
  • Wide rings (6+ mm) fit tighter – go up half a size
  • When in doubt, buy a larger size – it's easier to downsize than to upsize
