Reading Size Charts Correctly: Ring, Bracelet, and Necklace Without a Mis-Purchase
Reading size charts correctly: Rings, bracelets, and necklaces without a bad purchase. In short: Most incorrect size purchases arise from three mix-ups: circumference vs. diameter for rings (circumference = diameter × Pi. Anyone who confuses them is way off), wrist circumference vs. bracelet length (the bracelet needs an extra 1 to 2 cm), and necklace length vs. drop height (this depends on the body). Anyone who keeps these three pairs apart and measures with string or a ruler orders practically error-free.

Rings: Circumference, diameter, and German sizing
German ring sizes correspond to the inner circumference in mm (size 54 = 54 mm circumference). Inner diameter is the other measurement. Conversion: diameter × 3.14 = circumference (17.2 mm diameter ≈ size 54). The classic bad purchase: diameter measured, entered as circumference. Measuring: measure the inside of a suitable ring with a ruler (diameter) or wrap a paper strip around the finger (circumference). In the morning AND evening, because fingers fluctuate by up to half a size. If in doubt: adjustable models.
Bracelets: Circumference plus wearing style
Measure the wrist directly at the wrist bone with a measuring tape (or string + ruler). This is the CIRCUMFERENCE, not the order size. Add the wearing allowance to this: +1 cm for a snug fit, +1.5 to 2 cm for a loose one. Example: 16 cm wrist + 1.5 cm = 17.5 size bracelet. Bangles (rigid rings) are measured differently: Here it counts whether the ring fits over the clenched hand. Measure the widest part of the hand.
Necklaces: Length is not drop height
The centimeter specification describes the chain, not its fit on you. Why the same length falls differently and how to find your reference is explained in detail in the Necklace Length Guide. Short version: measure an existing necklace or use the string method.
The 3 measuring tools everyone has
Paper strip + pen + ruler replace any special tool: wrap the strip, mark the overlap, measure flat. For rings, additionally perform a counter-check with an existing ring. And the final safety net is built-in: With a 14-day return policy, every Corelune order is a risk-free trial. Wrong size means exchange, don't get annoyed.

Which bracelet type lasts in everyday life?
| Question | Answer | Consequence |
|---|---|---|
| Wear daily? | Link bracelet with lobster clasp | Elastic models are ruled out |
| Combine with a watch? | Match metal color | Otherwise distribute to both arms |
| Expandable? | Charm bracelet | Weight increases with every charm |
| Water contact? | Stainless steel | Coated parts wear out faster |
What do buyers regularly fall for when it comes to necklaces?
The most common reason for a piece ending up in the drawer is not quality, but a lack of fit for everyday life. The classic is a piece that fits an occasion that happens twice a year. The best test is asking yourself if you would wear it on a regular Tuesday.
Which details reveal the craftsmanship of necklaces?
For necklaces, the weight in your hand often says more about the construction than any product description. The clasp is the most frequent weak point, followed by eyelets and solder seams, in that order. These points apply regardless of whether the piece costs fifteen or fifty euros.
How do you care for necklaces correctly?
Investing two minutes once a month keeps necklaces in their original condition for years. A soft cloth after wearing and a bath in warm soapy water once a month cover all needs. Coatings will eventually wear off anyway, but this can be slowed down, not prevented.
What can necklaces handle in everyday life and what not?
Stainless steel handles water without problems, yet there are situations where taking it off is the smarter decision. Sauna and heat do not harm the material, but they accelerate the abrasion of coated parts. Patting dry after contact with water is sufficient as the only care in most cases.
What do good necklaces cost and what do you get for it?
The price of necklaces consists of material, labor, and a brand markup, and you only notice the first two points when wearing them. For necklaces under ten euros, the craftsmanship is usually the item where costs were cut. The 14-day return policy takes some of the risk out of the decision anyway.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does ring size 54 mean?
In German sizes: 54 mm inner circumference. This corresponds to about 17.2 mm inner diameter. The most frequent source of error is confusing these two measurements.
How do I measure my bracelet size?
Measure the wrist at the wrist bone and add 1 to 2 cm depending on the desired fit: +1 cm for a snug fit, +1.5 to 2 cm for a loose fit.
When should you measure ring sizes?
Twice: in the morning and in the evening. Fingers fluctuate by up to half a size due to temperature and time of day. When in doubt, choose the larger measurement or buy an adjustable one.
Why does my necklace become dull at the back of my neck?
Collars, scarves, and hair constantly rub against the same spot. For coated necklaces, the tone at this spot becomes cooler first. Alternating between two necklaces distributes the wear and significantly delays visible abrasion.
